We are going to tell the story of a company that makes champagne and one man. Jean-Jacques Cattier, who decided to lead a small revolution in an industry that’s traditionally very codified.

The story of a champagne brand that dreamed of luxury and, along the way, captivated Jay-Z, the world of hip-hop, China, the United States, and LVMH.

This is our topic today: “Innovating in a Highly Codified Industry: The Example of Armand de Brignac.”

To discuss this fascinating story and subject, I’m pleased to welcome Alexandre Cattier, President and Cellar Master of the Cattier Champagne House, the parent company of Armand de Brignac.

Introduction to Alexandre Cattier:

Alexandre Cattier, son of Jean-Jacques, graduated with a National Enologist Diploma from the University of Reims in 2002. He joined the Cattier House after gaining experience in Australia. His father Jean-Jacques began passing on the secrets of blending the various cuvées, which have been passed down through generations.

Imbued with the House spirit, Alexandre continued his father’s work by taking the reins of the House in 2011 and became the guarantor of the Cattier signature.
