We’ve discussed this in several episodes of this podcast, especially the last one, but our society is going through numerous crises of trust. Crises of trust in institutions, in politics, or even in the media. More than ever, and this is not new, French people are looking for figures to turn to. Our close ones are the first to be sought out, but in recent years, with the advent of social media, thousands of “influencers” have emerged, whose content we consume and who can directly impact our daily purchases.
How can Jolimoi, through social selling, reinvent e-commerce?
This sector is also not spared from crises and controversies, as shown by battles waged by several journalists or rapper Booba to expose manipulations, scams, or abuses. But beyond this ecosystem, there are hundreds of other content creators, less known but more reliable, who have managed to build their audience, establish trust with it, and demonstrate their expertise in specific domains. They generally have fewer than 100,000 followers, and according to a study, in 2022, 82% of consumers had followed at least one of their recommendations. They have become key players in e-commerce, particularly in one form of e-commerce: social selling.
So what is social selling, and more importantly, could it reinvent e-commerce? That’s the topic of today’s episode. For this episode, we are delighted to welcome Isabelle Rabier, founder and CEO of Jolimoi.
You are listening to the 22nd episode of “L’oeil de l’expert(e)”. A podcast produced and realized by Dix-Sept Paris.
